McGregor’s really hungry! I want 100 more fights, says the legend. How often does he want to fight?
Conor McGregor is determined to return in full force. Not only does he want to prove that he still has what it takes to compete with the absolute best. He also intends to fight very often and if his health holds up, that would be extremely good news for the UFC and MMA as a whole.
Conor McGregor is determined to make a full comeback. Not only does he want to prove that he still has what it takes to compete with the absolute best. He also intends to fight very often and if his health holds up, that would be extremely good news for the UFC and MMA as a whole.
The world’s biggest MMA star announces his return. Conor McGregor is already involved in the USADA anti-doping program and should be back in the UFC cage by the end of the year. Before that, however, he’s filling the role of coach on the reality show The Ultimate Fighter.
His opponent on the aforementioned show is Michael Chandler, the former Bellator champion, who the Irishman will face in his comeback fight. McGregor himself reports that it will be the biggest comeback in combat sports history.
After all, it’s highly anticipated. There are a lot of questions. In what form will McGregor return? How will he be mentally? How will his already healed leg, which he broke in his third fight with Dustin Poirier in the summer of 2021, hold up?
Plus, Chandler has faced the absolute top of the UFC in his last few fights. Can McGregor keep up with him? The Irishman believes he can. That’s why he says this will be his biggest comeback yet. Because he intends to deliver a sovereign performance and a sovereign finish.
And he’s not going to stop there. When he gets through the Chandler fight, he’s going to be very active. He’s not just going to do “money fights”. He wants to fight as often as he can.
“I’m hoping for a hundred more fights. I hope for consistency. I’m hoping for a long streak,” he was quoted as saying in an interview with Megan Olivi.
McGregor hopes to manage three to four fights a year. He wants to become champion again and demolish any doubts about his character.
