McGregor’s in trouble? Promises KO with one punch, Gaethje reacts after Poirier’s exemplary finish
Conor McGregor was supposed to fight Michael Chandler at the end of the year, but he didn’t participate in the USADA anti-doping program, so he’s out of luck. Boss Dana White believes he might somehow be able to get the Irishman into the cage, however McGregor has another opponent lined up.

Justin Gaethje has had another awesome fight, during which he cut a knockout headkick that will no doubt aspire to the award for best KO of the year.
The American slugger stepped on Dustin Poirier after his win over Rafael Fiziev to win the BMF title. With the win, he also claimed a lightweight title fight, so he could face the winner of the Islam Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira duel.
Before that, though, he could potentially cut another duel. After all, Conor McGregor had a lot to say about his fight with Poirier. The Irishman was supposed to return to the cage this year in a fight with Michael Chandler, only he didn’t participate in the USADA anti-doping program.
In order to fight in the UFC, he has to sign up six months in advance. It didn’t happen. However, the UFC believes it can arrange for McGregor to enter the cage later this year. But the Irishman has stopped caring about Chandler, and after a great performance, he’s taken a swipe at Gaethje.
“I’ll knock him out with one punch,” McGregor promised on social media. It wasn’t the Irish star’s first reaction, however, and was the first to which Gaethje responded by agreeing to sign McGregor.
Straight after the fight with Poirier, the American fighter wasn’t too keen on the fight with McGregor. He branded the Irish star a fraud, saying he was only interested in big challenges.
It’s worth noting that Gaethje’s fight with McGregor was recommended by former champion Henry Cejudo. He said he would accept an offer for a fight with McGregor rather than a title fight, which could earn him $10 million.
