McGregor has no doubts about his win over Poirier and is eyeing a title shot
This weekend we will see the conclusion of a spectacular trilogy. Conor McGregor takes on Dustin Poirier for the third time.
The Irish fighter is very confident and doesn’t want to lose. On the contrary. And if he wins, he has already chosen his next opponent.
It is none other than the current lightweight champion Charles Oliveira. “I’m going to dance with the Brazilian again, I’m looking forward to it,” McGregor let it be known.
Oliveira has been the UFC lightweight champion since May 2021 when he defeated Michael Chandler in the second round via TKO in their title fight.
The Brazilian is currently on a streak of nine wins in a row and awaits his first defense. But according to McGregor, he is a timid fighter who crumbles under pressure.
And would McGregor be upset with the champion? Not at all. “I’m not impressed with Oliveira,” said the star Irishman.
However, still standing in McGregor’s way is Poirier, who deservedly beat the Irishman in the second round earlier this year. Can he repeat that, or will McGregor actually ask for a title shot?
