McDavid was literally unstoppable in Edmonton’s last game against Philadelphia. The 26-year-old Canadian forward scored in the first period at 15:55.
On the first goal, McDavid drove almost the entire rink and even though he had the opportunity to pass the puck to his teammate, he decided to take an individual action. The Oilers forward toyed with the Philadelphia defense, whereupon his subsequent finish ended up in the net.
The home team scored more goals in the middle part of the game. Zach Hyman scored to make it 2-0, assisted by McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. However, the visitors then tied the game’s goal tally when Travis Konecny first reduced the score and Marc Staal equalized with three minutes left in the second period.
However, Edmonton regained the lead with fifty-five seconds left in the second period. This time it was Canadian McDavid who scored an assist. In this case, the home team took advantage of a power play, the author of the goal was Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
Edmonton decided the game with two goals in the third period. McDavid was again involved in both of them. First, Draisaitl scored after a minute and a half of play, then Nugent-Hopkins adjusted the score to 5:2 at 51:19.
In the video below, you can see not only McDavid, but of course the whole team. The Richmond Hill native was there for all of his team’s goals.
