Mbappé will never leave, says PSG boss. What does he say about Messi’s arrival?
The president of the Parisian club, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, spoke about the future of Kylian Mbappé, the interest in Neymar and the possible arrival of Lionel Messi. What did he reveal?
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi spoke to L’Equipe about several topics. One of the most important ones was the future of Kylian Mbappé, whose contract expires in a year and who is in great demand in Madrid.
“To be clear, Kylian will stay in Paris. We will never sell him and he will never leave for free. I’m not going to disclose the details, but we are progressing with the negotiations,” the Parisian boss let slip.
“I believe we will find common ground. He is one of the best players in the world and he is also a fantastic person. He will win the Ballon d’Or in the next few years, I am sure of that. And where could he go? What club can compete with PSG in terms of ambition and project?” al-Khelaifi added.
But he also briefly commented on Neymar’s contract extension with PSG: “It was not complicated. He is one of the best players in the world. The negotiations took a long time only because of the coronavirus. We turned down an offer from Barcelona, who tried until the last minute. Neymar believes in our project, he loves the city and the fans and is committed to the club.”
The last topic was Lionel Messi and his potential arrival in Paris. Al-Khelaifi, however, was not very forthcoming.
“I told the president of Barcelona that Messi’s contract is up and everyone has the right to negotiate with him from January 1. I can tell you that all the great players want to come to PSG, but it is impossible to bring everyone. In any case, Messi is a fantastic player,” the PSG boss ended the interview with the French media.
