Mbappé was the top scorer in Europe in the last league season. Who else has shone?
The league competitions are over and it is time to evaluate. The top scorer in Europe is Robert Lewandowski (35 goals) and the top passer is Thomas Müller (21 assists). However, Kylian Mbappé topped the scoring charts with 47 points (28 goals and 19 assists).

The French striker has had a very successful season, especially individually, but in terms of team achievements, he and his teammates only celebrated a victory in Ligue 1, which is not enough for a club with the highest ambitions!
In the eighth round of the Champions League, PSG fell short to Real Madrid, the winners of this season’s competition. It was the White Ballet that was to be Mbappé’s destination after the season. However, this did not happen and the 23-year-old Paris native signed a contract at the Parc des Princes until 2025.
The trio of Neymar, Messi and Mbappé will thus most likely stay together for next season. The youngest of the two could thus benefit from this collaboration again, as he was clearly the best player in Europe in terms of points this season. In fact, no one has scored a total of 47 points during this league season!
Behind Mbappé in the top 5 of the best European leagues is the aforementioned Polish cannonballer, who has held these statistics at Bayern Munich for several seasons. However, he has leaked the news to the world that the Bavarian club is a thing of the past for him. So it will be interesting to see in which jersey Lewandowski will score goals in the new season.
After years on the sidelines, Benzema has finally shone to the full, and after some fantastic performances, especially this year, he is a clear contender for the award for the best footballer of the year.
Liverpool have also had an excellent season, winning two trophies and only one step short of two more. There is certainly a slight disappointment in the Reds team, but after a while they will all be proud of how great they have been. And that they’ve got a reason to be!
The Egyptian Pharaoh, of course, regularly contributed to these results, but he failed at that crucial moment – the Champions League final, which must be doubly disappointing given his previous failure.
RB Leipzig’s Nkunku, who also won one trophy (DFB-Pokal), is a very interesting player for many big clubs. And he didn’t score only in the German league. In the Champions League he scored 7 goals in 6 games and this year in the Europa League he scored 4 more in 5 duels.
The German side acquired him in the summer of 2019 for just €13 million from PSG and it will be very interesting to see his further development. The question, of course, is whether he will last another two years at RB Leipzig.
