Mbappé publicly defended Zidane after French federation chief’s comments: we mustn’t disparage him like that

In France, the topic of a possible change of coach for the national football team was again discussed. The legendary Zinedine Zidane has been associated with it for some time. The French national team has had a successful World Cup in Qatar. The gold was not won when Argentina won the final, but considering the absences the team had to deal with, the silver is a great result.
For coach Didier Deschamps it was an even better result as he is under constant pressure. His contract was up after the championship and his position was constantly linked to another French legend who is without a commitment.
Specifically, this includes Zinedine Zidane, who has been free since July 2021 when he finished at Real Madrid.
Zidane himself is very much in the running for a place with the French national team, but he will just have to wait a while longer.
Zidane has reportedly turned down an offer to lead the United States selection. But he is out of luck. Deschamps can rejoice in his new contract and will coach France until 2026.
The head of the French federation, Noel Le Graet, was rather rude to Zidane. “Did he try to call me? Certainly not. I wouldn’t have answered his phone anyway. We never met, I never considered the end of Deschamps,” he admitted to RMC Sport.
Moreover, he stated that Zidane could go anywhere and that he personally wouldn’t really care.
This does not please the PSG star and big admirer of the Real Madrid legend at all. Kylian Mbappé reacted on social media and defended his idol: “Zidane is France. We must not disparage a legend like this.”
