Mbappé on the bench all year? Even such advice comes to PSG
The case surrounding Kylin Mbappé’s contract at PSG is getting pretty heated. There is even talk that if the French star refuses to sign a new contract, he should remain on the bench for the entire season.
The case surrounding Kylin Mbappé’s contract at PSG is getting pretty heated. There is even talk that if the French star refuses to sign a new contract, he should remain on the bench for the entire season. Mbappe’s contract expires at the end of next season.
But the author of 111 goals in 127 games for PSG shouldn’t be completely worried just yet. After all, this information is mainly hearsay and there is no confirmation from the club yet.
the 22-year-old striker is about to enter his fifth (and possibly final) season, so the Parisian outfit will be fighting for an extension.
After all, letting one of the best players of today, and a Ballon d’Or candidate, leave for free would be a tangible loss even for a team as rich as PSG.
The Parisians would certainly make a lot of money on the transfer. Moreover, they are now announcing the arrival of many reinforcements and the price tags are mostly in the tens of millions of pounds.
Even though Mauricio Pochettino could “punish” Mbappé by benching him, this option seems highly unlikely. After all, the risk of a successor at the spearhead striker position not matching the French superstar in terms of goals is not an option.
Real Madrid were, and still are, very interested in Mbappé, and Mbappé himself has shown his affection for the Madrid outfit on several occasions. So how this will play out remains to be seen.
However, it is highly unlikely that the 22-year-old striker would sit on the bench among the substitutes for a whole year and not play at all.
