Lionel Messi helped PSG’s turnaround in the match against Saint-Étienne on Saturday when he passed two goals to his French teammate, whose future is constantly speculated.
Kylian Mbappé has now reached 156 goals scored in a Parisian jersey, which means he is tied for second place in the club’s historical goalscorers table, having equalled Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
It’s worth noting that the 23-year-old Frenchman needed 25 more games to reach that number of goals than the Swedish phenomenon, who is still scoring goals in an AC Milan jersey.
Mbappé could easily dominate the table as early as next season, but it is questionable whether he will even play in Paris anymore. The first place is held by Edinson Cavani, who scored 200 goals for PSG.
This season, the PSG star has scored 24 goals in 34 games, while Mbappé has burned many chances, so he could have had much better numbers. Either way, it’s an exceptional feat at his age.
We can expect the Frenchman to score a few more goals before the end of the season. The rest will depend on whether he accepts PSG’s contract offer.
