The current Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen will remember the last Grand Prix in Azerbaijan very fondly. Not only did he score 25 points for the win, but he also became the youngest driver in the history of the queen of motorsport to reach 25 wins, while surpassing Sebastian Vettel in the number of podiums for the Red Bull team. All this at just 24 years old.

On the day of Sunday’s victory in Baku, the Dutchman was 24 years and 255 days old. Until then, the first Vettel was 25 years and 103 days old at the completion of the victory. Then the legendary trio of Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are more than three years further back.

Verstappen holds many Formula One records. The Red Bull driver is the youngest F1 driver, the youngest driver on the podium and also the youngest race winner.

He scored his first podium in the famous 2016 Spanish Grand Prix, in which the Dutchman crossed the finish line first. In Barcelona, moreover, it was his first race for Red Bull.

A win in the eighth round of the 2022 season marked the 66th podium of his career, surpassing Sebastian Vettel. Verstappen is the team’s new record holder, although he needed more races than his German rival.

The German is also more successful in percentage terms. In 109 races he has won four championships, 38 wins and 44 pole positions. Verstappen, on the other hand, has 125 Grands Prix under his belt, winning 25 of them and qualifying 14 times.

The Dutchman is also tied to Red Bull until 2028 and with the current form of the Red Bulls, he can continue to break records.

He is currently aiming for a second world championship title, with his teammate Sergio Pérez in second position. The situation is ideal for pushing his own boundaries.
