Matthews went on a rampage at the Rangers, McDavid extended his point streak and Panarin is at 700 points
Auston Matthews dominated the New York Rangers, scoring 4 points. Connor McDavid extended his point streak to 10 games in a row with two assists. Artemi Panarin scored his 700th NHL point.

Auston Matthews had a four-point game
The New York Rangers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (3:7) were dominated by Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marner. The former forward scored two goals and two assists. Marner also contributed two goals and an assist in the win.
Matthews notched the 13th four-point night of his career and became the first player this season to eclipse the 20-goal mark. Historically, he is only the second U.S.-born hockey player to start his NHL career with at least eight 20-goal seasons.
The record holder in that regard is Patrick Kane, who did it in 13 consecutive seasons between 2007-2020. He has recently entered the new season with the Detroit Red Wings after a long recovery.
Panarin already has 700 points in the NHL
Although Russian forward Artemi Panarin had no reason to be happy about the big defeat, it was a small patch for him to at least record his 700th NHL point with a pass to Mike Zibanejad. He reached the milestone in 617 games played, in which he scored 232 goals and 468 assists.
McDavid dominated the Connor duel
Czech goaltender Petr Mrazek scored for the visiting team in Edmonton Oilers vs Chicago Blackhawks (4:1). However, he was not very successful as he caught the puck four times from his net. Oilers captain Connor McDavid had two assists and extended his point streak to 10 games with at least one point. In that streak, he has already recorded an impressive 25 points on six goals and 19 assists.
Interestingly, two generational talents have played against each other. For the first time ever, the NHL got to see Connor McDavid vs Connor Bedard. The older and more famous McDavid came out victorious, winning his eighth straight game with the Edmonton team after a poor start to the season.
In addition, Connor McDavid has a double-digit point streak for the thirteenth time in his career. This puts him already at 5th place in the historical charts at the moment. Only Wayne Gretzky (31 times), Guy Lafleur (15), Mario Lemieux (14) and Marcel Dionne (13) have done it more times.
