Matěj Kovář, the 21-year-old Czech goalkeeper, has extended his contract at Manchester United until the end of June 2023 with an option for another year. He has also agreed a loan deal with third-tier Burton Albion.
Four years ago, the talented Czech goalkeeper transferred from Slovácko to Manchester United. Back then, the young Czech signed a contract that would have ended this June. However, he has agreed an extension with his current club.
He will therefore remain Manchester United’s goalkeeper until at least the end of next season. However, he is now going on loan to Burton Albion in the third top flight of the English league to gain experience.
Matej Kovar has trained with Manchester United’s main squad on several occasions, but has yet to feature in a competitive match. However, he has appeared on the bench a few times, catching for the Red Devils’ youth teams.
