Fast cars, the smell of petrol and beautiful women have always gone together. And it’s a well-known fact that formula drivers can party hard. The legendary James Hunt, who was portrayed by Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in the popular film Rivals, knew this. Vladimír Netušil, the fastest Czech in the Formula 3 category, knows it too, as he skipped from the European Euroformula Open series to Brno at the weekend in order to present himself at least once a year to his home fans. After the race he was visited in the paddock by Michelin chef Jan Punčochář, fighter Karlos Vémola and selected Playboy beauties.

The eyes of Formula One fans were on Brno this weekend. Dozens of drivers presented themselves at the local autodrome in several categories. But the biggest fuss was certainly made by Vladimir Netušil.

This season, the driver and owner of the Effective racing stable is racing in the European Euroformula Open at the Formula 3 level, where in the past the reigning world champion Max Verstappen or Charles Leclerc headed straight to the Formula 1 elite.

Vladimír was very happy to take the opportunity to race in front of the Czech public, especially since the Brno circuit is one of his favourites. “I like it here very much, I won here last year, as well as the whole Central European Zone series, so I have only the best memories. It’s great to show myself to the Czech audience and to existing or potential partners,” says Netušil.

On Saturday he organised a pompous event for his partners right in his own paddock. Next to the stabled monopost, a chef’s counter was set up to the smell of petrol, with a true master of his craft, chef Jan Punčochář, standing by.

“I made a themed menu that fits the race, everything was bloody,” said Punčochář with a typical smile. The dishes served were Argentinian prawns with tomatoes and olives, sea bass, or veal tenderloin with stallion sauce. There was also the traditional and very popular Punčochář’s dessert, the so-called caramel egg.

Although he finished unsuspectingly fourth in the race itself after a mistake and second in the second category of newer cars, he didn’t let the rest of Saturday’s action spoil it for him. His friend Karlos Vémola, champion of the OKTAGON MMA organization, also arrived in the paddock. It was he who drove Netušil’s monoposto himself last year.

“It’s incredibly addictive when you get close to another car. You get competitive and want to prove something,” the famous fighter gushed at the time. This time he left the driving of the car to his friend and had a nice time by himself.

The evening programme was then spiced up for the guests in the Effective Racing stable by the beautiful models of Playboy magazine. There was also the winner of the Looking for Playmate contest Denisa Gudelj, actress Denisa Pfauserová, world successful tattoo artist Ivana Beláková and popular DJ Lucca.

After the weekend event, Vladimír Netušil returns to preparations for the next event of the Euroformula Open series, which is scheduled for two weeks in Monza, Italy. In this year’s event, which is his first in the series, his goal is to pull down the times of the best, and then to get into the crosshairs of higher competitions such as Formula 1 and 2 in the coming seasons.
