Former Octagon champion Michal Martinek has seen success in his new organization KSW after moving from the Russian ACA. On Saturday night he defeated Poland’s Filip Stawowy and thanked his fans for their support after the fight.

Michal Martinek scored his first win in KSW. The heavyweight wrestler defeated Filip Stawowy, who was 10 kilos over on the scales.

Martinek was the favourite though and confirmed his role, winning on points and was able to enjoy a valuable triumph, as he had previously fallen to Denis Smoldarev in ACA.

His move from this Russian organization was a success and Blackbeard, as he is nicknamed, scored his tenth win in professional MMA

“Just a quick one, then we’ll talk, but it’s home! He was a tough guy. He’s a tin head, a lean man. Thanks for the support,” he said in a story on his Instagram after the win.

Martinek is, among other things, a sparring partner of Jiri Prochazka, who won the UFC welterweight title last week and put the Czech Republic on top.

Martínek also hasn’t been far from the UFC in the past, but he fell to Brazilian Rodrigo Nascimento in Dana White’s Contender and did not receive a contract offer.
