Martin Hašek has made his debut in his new team! He played the final five minutes for Wisla Plock and was able to celebrate with his teammates the 2-0 victory over Zaglebie Lubin. But why did he have to wait so long to start?
When Martin Hašek left Sparta Prague in 2020, he certainly didn’t expect what kind of cause he would create and where his football career would go afterwards.
The FAČR Board of Referees decided that he had to pay Sparta a fine of 20 million crowns, which would have completely destroyed him. That’s why he appealed to the CAS sports arbitration and can be quite satisfied.
Although the latter found in Sparta’s favour, the club has to pay only CZK 2.25 million plus 10% of the amount per year as interest for late payment.
In the meantime, he was playing for the Turkish club Erzurumspor, which was relegated to the first league and was banned from bringing in new players, which meant a big problem.
Hašek had mental problems in the winter, he did not come for the winter preparation and decided to leave. Eventually, his services were requested by Wisla Plock in Poland, where he signed a contract until the summer with a clause that included the possibility of extending his cooperation if he was satisfied.
The transfer took place on 28 February and Hašek waited until 8 April to make his debut. Why? The reason is simple, firstly mental problems, secondly late documents sent from Turkey which FIFA needed to confirm the transfer.
Hašek made his debut against Zaglebie Lubin and came on in the 86th minute, replacing experienced striker Bartosz Spiaczka.
After he came on, no more goals were scored and Wisla won 2:0. With this win, Wisła is now in seventh place, seven points ahead of the relegation zone in 16th place.
