Karlos Vémola said a few months ago that he would like to fight Martin Buday at heavyweight, as it would be no problem for him to beat him. However, Buday has since joined the UFC and the fight won’t happen anytime soon. What did the Slovak say about Vemola?

Martin Buday is having a great time. He won a title in the Octagon and then went on Dana White’s Contender Series show, where he won a UFC contract. So the Octagon lost its heavyweight champion.

However, a few months ago we could hear the words of Carlos Vemola, who doesn’t like Buday and doesn’t believe in his quality. That’s why he wanted to fight him for the heavyweight title. What does the Slovak say about it in retrospect?

“Actions speak for me, not my mouth. I didn’t give any thought to the man and his shouts in the dark. He publicly slandered me and questioned me. This is not the first time I have shut the mouth of someone who does not wish me well. He himself knows he wouldn’t take a fight against me and would back down somehow.

And I didn’t even care. Where would a middleweight scalp take me? It’s in the past. I have a better schedule now,” he said in an interview with Slovak Sport. Vémola himself is not having the best of times.

Yes, he is still undefeated since his tough defeat to Attila Vegh, but he had shoulder surgery and then another injury that prevented him from fighting for the title in Štvanici.

That title is now held by Samuel Krištofič and Vémola will want to take it back at the end of the year. However, it’s still unclear if the organization or the Pirate will relent and let him go into the octagon as champion, not challenger, which is his stipulation.
