Markéta Vondroušová is one of the last Czech tennis players who has not yet found an opponent at this year’s French Open. She will be challenged on Sunday by Paula Badosa Gibert of Spain, who is in great form. How will the match play out?

Markéta Vondroušová is currently ranked 21st in the WTA rankings. However, if the 21-year-old Czech fails to defend her 2019 final appearance, she will see a significant drop.
In the first round of the French Open, the native of Sokolov defeated Kaia Kanepiova. Wins against home team Harmony Tanova and Polona Hrecogova followed. So far in the tournament, Vondrousova has lost only one set.
Her opponent on Saturday will be Paula Bados Gibert. The 23-year-old Spaniard is one of the biggest surprises of the current season. In the 2021 rankings, she is ranked 13th.
Three wins at the French Open are also to blame. Lauren Davis, Danka Kovinic and also Ana Bogdanova stood in her way at the second Grand Slam of the season, but together they played only one set.
So what’s your bet? Although the bookmakers favour the Spanish player, I see the chances of reaching the quarter-finals very even. This will be the first ever meeting between the two.
