Marcos Senesi has been giving great performances at Feyenoord, which has impressed not only West Ham. Moreover, the Argentine defender wants to play in the World Cup next year, so it would certainly help him to move up a level. But will the Hammers win this battle in a very competitive game?

West Ham currently have 4 stoppers, of which Craig Dawson (31 years old) and Angelo Ogbonna (33 years old) are slowly but surely getting older and with several defensive players currently injured, David Moyes has to act.

Senesi, who earned the nickname “Gladiator” during his two years at Feyenoord, seems to be a suitable reinforcement. That alone suggests he should fit in well with the London team.

He’s no speedster, but that’s not a handicap in the Eredivisie and shouldn’t be a problem in the Premier League either. His strengths are mainly in power, header and, judging by his nickname, doggedness.

The Argentine was brought up for big football by San Lorenzo, from where he came to Feyenoord for €7 million in the summer of 2019, and it is already certain that a possible transfer will cost his new employer at least three times more.

The cornerstone of Feyenoord’s defence has already played 26 games in the current season. His consistent performances have already caught the attention of several other clubs, including Napoli and AS Roma. However, according to 90min, he is also being watched by other English clubs, notably Aston Villa, Leeds United and Newcastle United.

Senesi himself has no doubts that he will soon appear on the pitch in different colours. “I know the opportunity will come soon. But I want to play regularly because I want to impress and play at the World Cup,” the Argentine defender told Ole.

That is why a move to England, and more specifically to West Ham, seems to be a rather interesting option. Tomas Soucek and co. are currently at the forefront of the English giants in the Premier League and are also playing in the European Cups.

If Senesi could push his way into the starting lineup and perform well, his wish would probably come true.
