Will Marco Reus leave Borussia Dortmund? This is the question that has been flying around the football world again in recent days. But as it seems, Manchester United is seriously interested. Coach Erik ten Hag has even met with his agents. Will the transfer of the star German international to the Premier League happen?

The well-known football site Goal has come up with information in the last few hours that the Manchester United coach has reportedly met with Marco Reus’ agents and discussed a potential transfer with them.

Thus, the English big club has sent clear signals that they are exploring options that would lead specifically to the engagement of the Dortmund native.

Indeed, the 33-year-old German international has entered the final months of his contract at Signal Iduna Park and has been given permission to negotiate with teams outside the Bundesliga. There had previously been talk of Reus joining Ronaldo at Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr.

Furthermore, Reus has had Premier League offers on the table before, with Liverpool and Manchester City interested in him. And now another English club, Manchester United, is interested in him.

Apart from Goal, the Daily Mail, Mirror and The Sun are also writing about the Red Devils’ interest. More specific information says that Ten Hag met with agents Dirk Hebel and Darren Freeman before the Manchester derby.

Manchester United would then probably cost Reus nothing in terms of transfer fee, as the thirty-three-year-old offensive midfielder would not move to England until the summer. His contract with his current employer expires at the end of June this year.

And as we wrote above, Reus has been given the green light by the club to negotiate a transfer with other clubs. So although he would come for free, we still have to remember that Reus is currently earning £200k a week at Dortmund.

Reus’ statement

He has played 368 games for Dortmund so far across all competitions. And during that time, he has scored 156 goals and assisted another 117.

“That’s why I have an agent to take care of these things. Of course you look ahead. I have six months left on my contract, I have to think about it. We’re going to negotiate and see which way it goes. We’ll see what the future brings,” Reus commented on the current situation, quoted by Goal.
