Marcel’s son is following in his father’s footsteps! Young Enzo has been nominated for the Spanish national team

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This is also true in the case of Brazilian ball wizard Marcelo. His son, Enzo Alves Vieira, is following in his footsteps and has thrived so well in Real Madrid’s youth that he has been called up to the Spanish under-15 national team despite being only 13.

The Spanish U15 national team has included Enzo Alves Vieira, son of perhaps the best left-back in football history, Marcelo.

This is despite the fact that Enzo is only 13 years old and the vast majority of the players in the nomination are 14 years old, so Marcel’s son will be playing against a year older. But it’s not because of his father’s name and fame, but because of his own performance.

He has scored 32 goals in 14 games in the Infantil A category and the coaches have high praise for him. So he hasn’t “sweated” in this aspect and while Marcelo has been grinding the left flank, Enzo is more of an offensive player.

Enzo recently broke the 100-goal mark at La Fábrica, Real Madrid’s academy. He started there in 2017 in the Benjamin B category at the age of seven.

He is currently considered one of Real Madrid’s great talents at the Valdebebas training centre. Last month, he even signed his first contract with Real Madrid, which was a way for the club to show how much they trust him and also to insure him against interest from other clubs.

At the same time, it will be interesting to see which national team Enzo eventually chooses. His father is Brazilian, of course, but Enzo was already born in Spain, where he has lived all his life so far and has dual citizenship.

He can represent both countries in the youth, but will have to make a decision once he is called up to one of the A-teams. This is how Jamal Musiala, for example, zigzagged between the England and Germany national teams in the youth before finally choosing Germany.
