Manchester United would like to bring in a midfielder. Erik ten Hag is interested in Chelsea’s Mason Mount

The Red Devils would like to bring another experienced player into their already stellar midfield. According to the English Daily Mail, United are interested in Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. United coach Erik ten Hag is reportedly very keen on the player according to the newspaper and would like the transfer to be completed as quickly as possible. The Manchester team is ready to offer £55 million for Mount.

Alongside Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, Mason Mount, who is currently wearing the Chelsea jersey, could also be a new addition to the midfield. Meanwhile, the continuation of Marcel Sabitzer, who is on loan at United from Bayern Munich, is uncertain.

The English midfielder is currently worth 65 million euros. However, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea should want up to 85 million pounds for their player. United are ready to possibly increase their offer as they want to support the Hague side, who are very interested in the player.

The Red Devils, however, will not have it easy in engaging Mount. The Daily Mail reports two other suitors for the services of the 24-year-old Englishman.

They should be this year’s runners-up Arsenal and also Liverpool. Jürgen Klopp’s team would like to rebuild their midfield after a not so good season and Mount should be one of the new faces in the Reds squad.

However, new Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino would be happy for Mount to remain in his team. At the moment, Mount is injured and thus will not feature in the last two games against Manchester United and Newcastle United. Even so, the 2021 Champions League winner will continue to be talked about in relation to his future.

Mason Mount has played a total of four seasons in a Chelsea jersey. He was brought into the team from Derby County by coach Frank Lampard in the 2019/20 season and Mount immediately became one of the mainstays of the team.

Mount achieved his greatest success under Thomas Tuchel when he won the Champions League with the team in the spring of 2021. His continuation in a Blues jersey, however, is uncertain for future seasons.
