Manchester United have failed in their bid for Frenkie de Jong, but will be looking to make another haul in Barcelona. The English outfit are very interested in young winger Ansu Fati, who is not entirely happy with his workload. Should the current situation continue into the spring, negotiations could get underway.

Manchester United wants to strengthen the offensive ranks, however, there are not many options on the market to strengthen. Moreover, if we focus on the affordable ones.

There was speculation in England about the possible arrival of Dusan Vlahovic, however, United have set their sights on another footballer. That’s 20-year-old winger Ansu Fati.

Fati is losing space on the pitch at Barcelona and it seems that he shouldn’t be much better off in the spring. He knows so well that if the situation doesn’t change, he should change his jersey.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, who has a very good relationship in Manchester, is well aware that there will undoubtedly be interest in the player from many clubs in the summer.

Ansu has been a pillar of the Blaugranas’ line-up in the past, which is also why the club has extended his contract until 2027 with a buy-out clause set at €1 billion.

Such a sum is absolutely not realistic, but Barcelona simply wanted to keep an eye on him. If, however, it got the impression that it no longer needed his services, it could let him go for a more realistic amount.

Moreover, it’s no secret that the club needs to raise some of those millions to mend the loss-making project. And Fati is one of the few who could earn it a bundle.

But there’s still plenty of time before the summer…
