Manchester United vs. Wolverhampton: Preview and betting tips
Manchester United will be looking to confirm their good form in Monday’s Premier League Round 21 match at Old Trafford when they welcome Wolverhampton. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Manchester have picked up at least in terms of results under their new coach. They have won four of the last five rounds and jumped to seventh in the table. They are four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal with two games in hand.
Wolverhampton cannot complain about the current situation given the poor start to the season. They are in ninth place and are only six points behind their Monday’s opponent.
Manchester relies on goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, the author of eight league goals and three assists. Central midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay have also come into good form under Ralf Rangnick.
In the Wolves squad we won’t find individuals with top numbers. Raúl Jimenez scored three times and assisted twice, but otherwise the team stands mainly on the good work of stoppers Conor Coady and Max Kilman, left back Ait Nouri is also doing well.
Rangnick has worked on the defensive phase, Harry Maguire and co have only got two goals in the last four rounds of the Premier League, against Crystal Palace and Norwich they were even wins with clean sheets.
Wolverhampton’s games have clearly seen the fewest goals conceded of any team in the league, yet Wolves games entertain even impartial spectators. Wolverhampton have scored thirteen goals so far, conceding fourteen.
Considering the home side’s well functioning defence and the visitors’ unplayed attack, I think Manchester will win.
