Manchester United vs FC Copenhagen analysis, preview
Not only has Manchester United not started well in the Premier League, they are even worse off in the Champions League, where they don’t have a point after two rounds. Last time out, they lost at home to Galatasaray, so they’ll need to finally score against Copenhagen if they want a look at the playoffs in the spring.
In the last two league rounds, the Red Devils managed to win. However, against Brentford they turned the game around at the very end and the win against Sheffield, also 2-1, is certainly not convincing.
In short, Manchester United are currently not performing anywhere near as expected. However, having a knife to Eric ten Hague’s throat just seems to suit him, at least in terms of results.
Copenhagen are in a similar position though, having only won against Velje in their last 4 games. Otherwise, it lost to Midtjylland, Bayern Munich and then drew with AGF.
The two teams have clashed three times this century. While Manchester United first won 3-0 at home in the Champions League in 2006, they lost 1-0 in Copenhagen. The last time they played each other was in August 2020, when Manchester United won 1:0 in extra time to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.
Manchester United vs FC Copenhagen odds, betting tips
Manchester United are obviously big favourites to win. After all, any other result will mean a big embarrassment. However, those who follow the Red Devils regularly would not be surprised at all.
Their performances lack any consistency and they often pick up points through sheer luck. Moreover, Copenhagen are good against the big teams, they led 1:0 against Bayern until the 67th minute, but eventually lost 1:2.
Looking at both teams’ recent games, it is clear that goals have been falling very often for both sides. A tip for both teams to score or Over 2.5 is a good value.
