Manchester United vs. Everton: Preview and betting tips
Manchester United will welcome a weakened Everton to Old Trafford in the 7th round of the Premier League and will not be able to rely on their two attacking drivers. Will we again see shooting, as is customary in the duels between these two teams?
Manchester United will welcome a weakened Everton to Old Trafford in the 7th round of the Premier League and will not be able to rely on their two attacking drivers. Will we again see shooting, as is customary in the duels between these two teams?
Manchester United are certainly not doing as well as expected and if it wasn’t for Cristiano Ronaldo, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team would be floundering in mid-table. The results are not so bad, but the game is.
Everton, however, have sat the Red Devils in recent years, having lost to them last time in the spring of 2019. The arrival of Rafael Benítez changes everything, however, and that’s mainly because of the style he practices.
Although Everton have already conceded 7 goals, which is the most of all teams that have scored 13 points or more, but the defensive work of the Spanish coach is definitely showing! The games of the blue team from Liverpool used to be quite wild in the past and you could not be sure of the result until the last seconds!
However, with Benítez, we see quite a different team that is much more organised and meticulous towards the back, which should also bring them more points and Everton definitely have the ability to finish in the top 8, which they failed to do in previous seasons, despite being one of the highest spending teams in the world!
Everton’s problem, however, is the midfield, with Benítez unable to use the services of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. In addition, several other key mainstays of the team have had minor problems. Thus, the starting line-up is still with a question mark.
It is Manchester United who will miss Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw also had minor problems. Neither, however, is definitely not a problem that should cause wrinkles on Solskjaer’s forehead.
That being said, Manchester United have done well against Everton in the past, it’s just that there’s one very well working tactic for the Red Devils in the current season that the little creative Norwegian coach can’t quite cope with.
Moreover, Benítez is synonymous with his team’s superbly sophisticated defensive play, which should pay dividends for their opponents. On the other hand, we have a big turnover. That’s why I personally believe the home side will go for the three points.
