Manchester United offered 130 million euros for Joao Félix. Atlético Madrid refused in style
Manchester United are in a desperate situation. They have missed the start of the season and are now trying to grab reinforcements at any cost. Manchester United are in a desperate situation. They have missed the start of the season and are now trying to grab reinforcements at any cost. He’s scouted two in Madrid, he’d like Casemiro from Real, and the management has sent a staggering €130m bid to Atlético. But the Colchoneros gracefully declined.
Meanwhile, the Erik ten Hagem revolution is getting all the cracks at the start of the season. The management has only brought in Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez for the Dutch coach.
But the Red Devils squad is so bad that they need a complete rebuild. That means 8-10 new players who will be systematically drafted and appropriately added to ten Hague’s system.
But that’s not what Manchester is doing and rather in a panic towards the end of the transfer window they want to buy at least someone. At Real Madrid he should have looked for Casemiro, at Atlético for Joao Félix.
According to the AS newspaper, an offer that amounted to an astronomical £130 million had already arrived in the eastern part of Madrid. Apparently, United thought that since Atleti had bought the Portuguese for €127 million and it can’t quite be said that Félix convinced, they were happy to send him on for the same amount.
They were wrong, however. the 22-year-old striker should finally play a major role in the new season, he showed it in the first round of La Liga when he provided a hat-trick of assists in a 3-0 win.
The transfer should have been rejected by Diego Simeone himself, who currently sees Félix as the most important player in the team. If the Red Devils wanted to acquire him, they would have to prepare 350 million euros, which is Félix’s exit clause.
And the rejection of United’s offer was also enjoyed by the administrator of Atlético Madrid’s club Twitter account. Last night, the Colchoneros posted a photo of Joao Félix with the caption “Priceless,” loosely translated as “priceless.”
Fans immediately noticed the reference to Manchester United and the post immediately went viral.
The historically most successful English club must be looking elsewhere for the Viseu native.
