The German coach is still the coach of Manchester United now, but after the season he will take the helm of the Austrian national team. He will remain at Old Trafford in an advisory role. There aren’t many people in the world more qualified to help put together a successful future squad.
Ralf Rangnick announced at a press conference that Manchester United must focus on the rising generation of talent and finding future stars.
The Old Trafford side is led by the 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, while Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic or Juan Mata are already over 30, while Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Fred and Jesse Lingard are 29.
“I think the club must try to look for future top star players and develop them. For example, Erling Haaland is one of those players I’m talking about, even though he has already developed into one of the most expensive strikers in the world,” Rangnick is quoted by Goal.
However, with Manchester United unlikely to qualify for the Champions League, the competition for the best young players will not be easy. Rangnick, however, believes that the Red Devils will continue to be an attraction for top talent.
The German strategist believes that new Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag will be one of the key factors in acquiring players.
