Cristiano Ronaldo is also on the move after Lionel Messi’s transfer to PSG. And it was the Portuguese forward who, according to most media, was headed to Manchester City. However, just before the expected signing, the Red Devils also joined the fray.
It seemed like a done deal. However, during the day on Friday, Fabrizio Romano came up with some interesting information. This journalist, from whom most of the footballing public gets their information, hung on his Twitter page the information that Ronaldo’s agent is in contract talks at Manchester United.
The tweet even said that the red part of Manchester is “seriously interested” in a possible transfer. The Portuguese would return to Old Trafford after 12 years and his place at the tip of the attack would be more than assured.
Ronaldo has scored 84 goals in 196 games during his Premier League career, which should de facto round his tally in England to 200 this season. We’ll see if he scores in a City or United jersey.
Already on Thursday, CR7 said goodbye to his teammates and management and asked for a transfer. If the Portuguese footballer were to move to the Citizens, there would be a clash with Lionel Messi in the Champions League, who would therefore move to PSG. The question will also be how hard United fans would bear the transfer of Ronaldo to a rival.
Update: According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have pulled out of negotiations for Ronaldo and instead a contract offer is ready at United.
