Victor Osimhen – Napoli
Napoli have been the surprise of the 2022-23 season so far, recording 13 wins and just two draws, topping the Serie A table and also progressing to the Champions League knockout stages as Group A winners ahead of Liverpool.
Osimhen has been key to their rise, despite missing a relatively large part of the autumn through injury. He has scored 10 goals in 14 games in all competitions and has been attracting suitors for his services for some time now.
According to Transfermarkt, his value is €70 million, and at 23 years old, he is ideally placed to move up a level. He is under contract at Napoli until 2025.
Denzel Dumfries – Inter
During the Dutch run to the quarter-finals at the World Cup in Qatar, it was Denzel Dumfries who was one of the key players for the Oranjes. He virtually single-handedly secured his progress in the eighth round against the USA with a goal and two assists in a 3-1 win.
the 26-year-old right-back did not perform at his best after his transfer from Ajax to Inter Milan. However, United need a right-back, as Diogo Dalot replaced Aaron Wan-Bissako in the starting line-up, whom the Red Devils want to sell.
Dumfries could leave for €42 million in January, but United have to fight Chelsea’s interest as well.
Goncalo Ramos – Benfica Lisbon
Goncalo Ramos put his name on the footballing map with a hat-trick in the World Cup semi-final. But it was no fluke.
He scored 9 goals in 11 games in the Portuguese league and added 5 more in 11 Champions League games. Many teams are interested in the 21-year-old striker, apart from United, Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona.
João Felix – Atlético Madrid
A genius caught in the wrong system. That’s how one could sum up João Félix’s career at Atlético Madrid with an exaggeration. The technically immensely gifted footballer has struggled in Diego Simeone’s defensive style and has failed to fulfil the potential the Colchoneros brought him in with for €120 million.
Moreover, there was to be a sharp exchange of views with the Argentine coach, with club president Gil Marín admitting that Félix could be sold in 2023. At Atlético, Félix is unhappy with his playing time, where he is not part of the starting line-up in the vast majority of games.
Yet he showed his quality at the World Cup in Qatar. So he is desperately hoping that a club will buy him out and allow him to play the football he was taught to play in Portugal.
Diogo Costa – Porto
David de Gea has finally returned to form under that hag, but he is rather out of the elite goalkeepers. At 32, he won’t be changing his style of play and he’s not really one of the goalkeepers with good crossing ability.
So it’s no wonder Manchester United are looking around for a replacement. A more modern, younger goalkeeper. They could find that in Diogo Costa, the number one for the Portuguese national team.
Although he hasn’t exactly been in scintillating form at the World Cup, his season in Porto has been excellent. He kept 6 clean sheets in 13 league games, and helped the team to qualify from the Champions League group stage. At 23 years old, he also has a lot of potential to continue to grow.
