Manchester City want to bring in a PSG speedster for Walker. But will the Parisian club give Hakimi the green light to leave? It’s not very realistic

Achraf Hakimi is undoubtedly one of the best that the current football world has to offer at the position of a full-back. Therefore, it is no wonder that Pep Guardiola wants to bring in the Moroccan speedster for Kyle Walker. However, PSG management can and probably will stand in the way.

At best, he is set to stop. That may be what the English full-back, whose time at Manchester City is coming to an end one way or another, is telling himself. Only, the Moroccan speedster has a contract with PSG until 2026, having arrived in 2021 from Inter for €68 million. This suggests that Hakimi will not be a cheap deal at all, which is hardly surprising.

It would be really hard to find such a player, with so much experience to boot, at the moment. The 24-year-old winger is of such quality that many have criticised his move to Paris. But at the time, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar were playing for PSG. The Argentine magician is now gone, and with one foot out of the Parc des Princes, so is Mbappé.

PSG will thus have to build a new attacking formation for the foreseeable future, which will not be easy given the failure of the previous trio. Hakimi himself might then yearn for a better league, in which the Premier League would certainly suit him.

Furthermore, this could be a great opportunity for the Parisian outfit to capitalise on one player and invest in a few more, although of course money is not what PSG owners would be concerned with.
