The two teams’ seasons have been quite different. Manchester United did not start the year well at all, in fact, they did not have an ideal autumn.

However, after the World Cup, the Red Devils started a terrific series in which Casemiro and Marcus Rashford shone in particular. The fans were so excited that they even believed in winning the Premier League title or at least the Europa League. It was all backed up by winning the Capital One Cup.

But then came the big downturn, the EL quarter-final defeat to Sevilla and the Premier League struggle for the Champions League. That leaves the Red Devils with only the FA Cup left.

But there they will face arguably the strongest team on the planet at the moment. Manchester CIty once again dominated the Premier League, and for the second time in their history they reached the Champions League final by knocking out European kings Real Madrid.

Pep Guardiola has added the final link to his functioning team – a killer spearhead striker named Erling Haaland, and at the moment it looks like nothing will stop the Citizens.

For the first time in the long and rich history of the competition, the FA Cup final will be played at Wembley Stadium as a Manchester derby.

The clear favourite is the team from the blue part of the city, but this year’s matches are evenly matched. In the autumn, there was a demolition at the Etihad Stadium, when the Citizens were leading 6:1 (eventually 6:3), but in the January rematch the Red Devils returned the defeat to their city rivals (2:1).

This time, however, the mood of both teams is completely different. That is why I think Manchester City will not miss the trophy and thus the vision of the treble.
