Harry Kane is the biggest star of Tottenham, maybe even of English football. He scores goals regularly every season, but the trophy is still nowhere to be found. That’s why he’s longed to leave, and Manchester City want to take advantage.
When Tottenham lost to Manchester City in the EFL Cup final on 25 April, Harry Kane was so furious that he asked the club’s management for a transfer, according to the British media.
Eighth season at Spurs without a trophy and the England captain has said enough. At 27, it’s high time he finally won something, he certainly has the individual qualities to do it. And the situation around the Premier League’s top scorer was immediately monitored by many big clubs.
Manchester City are thought to be the most interested. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the latter has made an official offer of £100 million with the possibility of additional player compensation.
Spurs, however, are reportedly not interested in letting their main star go, with Kane wanting to leave. Boss Daniel Levy will try to keep him at all costs though, losing a striker of his calibre would hit Tottenham hard.
The England international is currently focusing on the EURO, everything should be sorted out after the tournament. However, if Pep Guardiola gets reinforcements for almost the only weak spot in the squad, the Citizens could be unstoppable next year.
