Manchester City are preparing a huge reinforcement in defence. But RB Leipzig want to make Gvardiol the most expensive stopper in the world!
Joško Gvardiol is undoubtedly one of the best young defenders in the world and many European giants are interested in him, but RB Leipzig are not going to sell their diamond for less than 100 million euros. Will Manchester City succeed already this summer?

It’s no secret how much Pep Guardiola admires the Croatian talent. After all, it was the 21-year-old stopper who scored the Citizens’ only goal in the double-header in the first round of the Champions League playoffs.
This is also why, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City will bid for Guardiola as early as this summer. Only, the Zagreb native has a contract with RB Leipzig until 2027.
Another problem is that the buyout clause will be activated next year and the amount included in it is 100 million euros, which is the amount for which the German outfit is willing to let their key stopper leave.

Pep Guardiola rates Joško highly.
Talks will take place between clubs; RB Leipzig hope to keep Gvardiol, won’t sell for less than €100m.

Romano reported that the two-time DFB-Pokal winner (21/22 and 22/23 – the only two major trophies in the club’s history) wants to make Guardiola the most expensive defender in history. And it must be added that, given a well-signed contract and a large crowd of interested parties, he will succeed.
Moreover, despite his young age, Gvardiol also has enough experience on the international scene, having already played 21 games for the Croatian national team, and even scored 2 goals.
Moreover, this is not some series of friendlies, as he has already played hard stopper at Euro 2020, where Croatia lost in the first knockout round only in extra time to later semi-finalist Spain.
Then, at the World Cup last year, the Croatians even fell in the semi-finals to Argentina, beating Morocco in the battle for third place, and he just opened the scoring in a match that ended 2-1.
According to an Italian journalist, the Citizens are in agreement with Guardiola, but now negotiations between the clubs will take place, and it can be counted on that the representatives of the English team could succeed. Considering several other overpriced transfers (Harry Maguire – Manchester United – €87 million), €100 million doesn’t seem like a lot at all.
