Norway’s talisman Erling Haaland has been shining since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, breaking record after record. So it’s no surprise that he is a truly valuable commodity for the Citizens. Despite only recently arriving, the management have already lined up a new contract for the striker and it is truly a dream one!
Erling Haaland, a striker virtually unknown 5 seasons ago, now one of the most talked about names, the hottest items on the transfer market. Manchester City management can really wash their hands of this purchase.
The Norwegian forward arrived in the Isles in the last summer transfer window for just £51.5 million from German side Borussia Dortmund. Given the value and potential the player still shows, it was almost a “steal”.
Since his first game in a blue jersey, Haaland has been breaking records everywhere you look, so it’s no wonder the club will want to secure him for years to come. The striker’s current contract has an exit clause worth £150m, which the management will be increasing.
That increase is the reason why Nor will most likely sign his second contract with the club in less than one season. The increase in the clause will go hand in hand with the player’s salary itself, as a reward for an extremely above-standard opening year.
Halaand’s value is recognised by current Man City coach Pep Guardiola. “He can break all records, which will also help him to improve.”
“It’s really impressive. He has already broken so many. You can show me all his stats and in all aspects I will always say I am amazed,” commented the Spanish strategist.
In the last league game against Leicester, Haaland scored twice to equal Mohamed Salah’s previous milestone. The Egyptian has scored 32 goals in the 38-match league format. So with eight games remaining, it is expected that it will be the Norwegian who will set a new Premier League goalscoring record. In his first season!
