Harry Maguire has been struggling this season, yet he is behaving like a professional and not creating any disturbances in the Manchester United cabin. However, his future is being addressed. There is reportedly a lot of interest in the English stopper. An interesting return is also in the cards.
The English stopper is now spending his fourth season at Old Trafford, but so far the least successful. Especially from an individual point of view. He dropped out of the starting line-up and didn’t play much.
However, Manchester United now has a lot of competition in the centre of defence and the team is doing quite well. Erik ten Hag is building a squad in his own image and it seems that Harry Maguire is not a man to be reckoned with for the next few years.
The Red Devils acquired the now 30-year-old defender for €87 million, however, his value is now estimated at £25 million. So it is clear that the club will lose out on him considerably.
Currently, Maguire is under contract at the club until the summer of 2025, however, it is likely that he will move this year. Several English clubs are interested in him. In addition, a return to places he already knows well is in the cards.
According to The Sun, the experienced stopper is interested in Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers, from where Maguire arrived at Old Trafford.
It should be mentioned that Leicester are now in the relegation zone and have a lot to do to stay among the elite. The team is of good quality but the performances are extremely erratic.
In particular, the Foxes defensive line is on fire. In 28 league rounds they have conceded 49 goals, the third worst performance in the whole competition. So Maguire could help the team considerably. Moreover, he could repair his tarnished reputation at the club.
Maguire was at the King Power Stadium from 2017 to 2019. He played 76 competitive games for Leicester.
