According to the latest speculations, Harry Maguire could change his contract before the January transfer window closes. Inter Milan are interested in his services, as they have to react to Milan Škriniar’s transfer to PSG.

The British server Daily Mail came up with the information in the last few hours that Inter Milan are trying to acquire stopper Maguire from Manchester United.

The English captain and England international is fighting for playing time at Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag preferring more of a stopper duo in the form of Lisandro Martínez – Raphael Varane.

The twenty-nine-year-old defender has only played eight league games out of a possible twenty for the Red Devils. He went on to start four Europa League games and made two starts each in the EFL Cup and FA Cup.

However, Goal reports that although Maguire is now only coach Ten Hag’s third choice, the player himself would prefer to wait until the summer to decide his future.

However, Maguire is under contract at Old Trafford until the end of June 2025, with his market value currently standing at €30 million. But it is true that he will not be getting any younger. And if he doesn’t play and his form declines in turn, it wouldn’t be unrealistic if Manchester United decide to sell.

“I am 29 years old and I have never been in this position in my career. I don’t want to get used to it, but it’s part of football. I push hard, I train hard and when the chance comes I have to take it,” Maguire said recently, as quoted by Goal.

Škriniar already signed, Lindelöf stays at Old Trafford

It should be noted, Inter have to deal with the departure of star stopper Milan Škriniar, who admitted a few days ago that he has signed with PSG.

However, both clubs have yet to officially confirm the deal. Apart from Maguire, Inter were also interested in Victor Lindelöf, but he remains at Manchester United. If things will be different with the English stopper, we will have to wait for some more, and hopefully official, information.
