Maguire faces ridicule again. With him Manchester United without a point, without him 3 wins
Manchester United are riding a winning streak. They have won three games in a row, beating Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester. And the fans have found a reason, because these three games have seen captain Harry Maguire on the bench.

An unexpected home defeat to Brighton and a disgraceful 0:4 drubbing at Brentford. It’s been a crazy start to Manchester United’s season.
Before the Liverpool game, Erik ten Hag made two big changes. He sat Cristiano Ronaldo, who walks on the pitch at least from the bench, and he sat mainly captain Harry Maguire, on whom the fans blamed the team’s defensive woes.
To Lisandro Martínez, the Dutch coach put four-time Champions League winner Raphael Varane and suddenly it works.
The Red Devils beat Liverpool 2-1, Southampton 1-0 and Leicester 1-0. Two clean sheets from three games and the defensive unit is suddenly on fire. And fans all over the world are clear, it’s all down to the perennially derided Maguire.
But if we look past the jokes and take it a little more seriously… It’s really not an easy situation for Maguire. At the moment there is no way back into the starting line-up for him, the Varane – Martínez pairing won’t just let him on the pitch, the Hag won’t change anything either.
So the English national stopper has to wait for an injury or a drop in form of one of the pair.
