Madness in the NHL! Ekblad played from the first round with a broken leg, dislocated shoulder and torn oblique muscle

It’s no secret that in the NHL, especially in the playoffs, players go over the edge. Especially the key players would rather weather an injury than miss their team. And that’s what elite running back Aaron Ekblad has demonstrated.

Having a great first baseman is a great foundation to winning a Stanley Cup. Last year, Colorado had a huge boost in Cal Makar, and previously Tampa leaned on Victor Hedman. Vegas had Alex Pietrangelo on their roster, Florida had Aaron Ekblad filling that role.

But somehow his performance in the finals wasn’t what was expected. All the spectators saw that the Canadian back was underperforming.

And in the end, it turned out that there was a logical justification. After the last game, it turned out that Ekblad finished the entire playoffs with an injury.

And not just any injury, it’s definitely not a bump or a bruise. He’s been playing with a fractured leg since the first round of the playoffs against Boston, plus he suffered two dislocated shoulders. To make matters worse, he tore his oblique muscle in the next series.

Players in the NHL often go over the edge, but playing with a fracture is a big sacrifice. Especially when you’re under fire for not playing well.

As the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, Ekblad finally led the Panthers to the Stanley Cup Finals, wanting to help the team win hockey’s most valuable trophy at any cost at age 27.

But he’ll have to wait at least another year and hope no injuries befall him in the playoffs next year.
