Maccabi Haifa vs. Juventus: Preview and betting tips

Juventus have an all-out game on Tuesday. They must win in Haifa, Israel, if they want to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League play-offs alive. They will be up against champions Maccabi, what to expect from their confrontation and what to bet on?

For Maccabi, participation in the group is a big event, having already hinted at potential in the Conference Europa League last year. This year, they knocked out the likes of Olympiakos or Crvena Zvezda Belgrade in qualifying, and although they haven’t scored in the group stage, they have scored a goal against the likes of PSG. And that definitely counts!

Juventus, on the other hand, remains behind expectations. After the expected loss to Paris, the Old Lady couldn’t even beat Benfica and after three rounds is four points behind the top two. It is not even in ideal form in the league, it is simply a shadow of the team that regularly fought for overall victory.

The home side rely on African striker Frantzdy Pierrot, he has hit the post six times through all competitions so far. Defensive midfielder, team captain and Israeli international Neta Lavi is the mainstay of the midfield.

Dusan Vlahovic confirms his role as one of the greatest talents of the moment, he has scored six times and assisted once so far this season. In the midfield, Weston McKennie is catching on, the American midfielder has one goal and an assist.

Maccabi’s offense has stopped thriving after qualifying for the group stage, scoring only twice in the Champions League so far, and scoring two or more goals in only two of their last seven games overall.

Juventus, on the other hand, have been scorching at home, scoring eleven goals in their last five games in front of their own fans.

Given the strength of Juventus’ squad and Maccabi’s poor scoring form in the cups, I think the visitors will win.
