Lyon vs. Toulouse: Preview and betting tips
The highlight of Friday’s poor football programme will be Lyon’s clash with Toulouse. The home team needs to win, they are not playing cups and yet they are not doing well at all in Ligue 1. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
The highlight of Friday’s poor football programme will be Lyon’s clash with Toulouse. The home team needs to win, they are not playing cups and yet they are not doing well at all in Ligue 1. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Lyon can fully concentrate on the league after last season’s failure to qualify for the cups. However, it doesn’t help him too much, with only four wins from nine rounds and nine points behind third-placed Lorient in seventh place.
Toulouse has made quite a comeback, winning two of their last three games to get off the bottom of the table, currently in twelfth place. However, it is still close to the relegation zone, with only a four-point cushion on seventeenth-placed Reims.
Captain Alexandre Lacazette is firing on all cylinders after his return from Arsenal, the French striker has scored four times and assisted once so far. Brazilian winger Tete has also scored four goals and assisted on three others.
On the away side, Moroccan winger Zakaria Aboukhlal has scored three times and assisted twice. Talented Dutch striker and U21 international Thijs Dallinga scored two goals and assisted one more.
Lyon ran out of gunpowder in mid-September, scoring only two goals in their last four games, all of them losses.
Toulouse, on the other hand, are not doing well away from home, losing their last three games away from home with a 7-2 aggregate score.
Considering Toulouse’s terrible away form and Lyon’s shooting impotence, I think the home side will win and score four goals at most.
