English Championship leader Sheffield United travel to Luton in Friday’s sixth round preview game. What to expect from the match between the first and the eighteenth and what to bet on?
Luton have failed to reach the top half of the table from the beginning of the season. After five rounds it has five points, is eighteenth and is just two points away from the relegation zone. So far they have only beaten 20th placed Swansea.
Sheffield, on the other hand, lead the league, thanks to six points from the last two rounds. In any case, the table is balanced and the lead to fourth place is one single point. The biggest threat is Watford.
Elijah Adebayo is the home side’s biggest star, but the skilful striker has been searching for form since the start of the season and hasn’t hit his stride yet. Allan Campbell has been performing well in the centre of midfield, he has netted once so far.
Iliman Ndiaye, the talented Senegalese striker, is pulling the visitors forward and has already scored three times from the top. The midfield is held by long-time mainstays John Fleck and Sander Berge, the latter scoring twice and assisting on one other goal.
Luton have struggled in attack, scoring more than once in just two of their last seven games. Three times they have been completely goalless.
Sheffield, on the other hand, stand on the scoring attack, scoring more than once in four of their last five games.
Given Sheffield’s scoring form, I think the visitors will win and stay top of the league.
