Many football fans have mainly followed the saga surrounding Kylian Mbappé over the summer transfer period. However, the story of the Belgian striker has also been worthwhile. Lukaku wanted to stay at Inter at first, with the number 1 reason, according to his earlier words, being that he loves the Milanese club and feels at home at the San Siro, in short.
So Inter tried to negotiate with Chelsea to extend the loan spell, but that didn’t work out in the end. Lukaku, however, while negotiations were still ongoing, began to probe options at another Serie A club – Juventus Torino.
However, the famous Italian club was also unsuccessful in negotiations with Chelsea, so AS Roma also stepped in. And to top it all off, things finally worked out for the Antwerp native.
Lukaku will join the AS squad for the remainder of the current Serie A campaign, which will send more than five million euros to London for a ten-month loan.
And as for the salary terms, we already reported in a previous article that Lukaku is willing to discount his demands. As already reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 30-year-old Belgian is expected to earn around €7.5 million over a ten-month period.
Inter coach praises his move to Roma
According to Capology , Lukaku earned nearly eleven million euros per year in an Inter jersey last season. He therefore earned just under 210,000 euros a week.
“The Romans made a great deal, it is good for Italian football to have Lukaku back. He is a great player, as we all know,” said coach Inzaghi, quoted by Football Italia.
Inter have entered the new Serie A season very well, having won both games and are currently third in the league table. The current leader of the Italian league is city rival AC.
