Luis Suárez is still looking for a new employer after his contract ended at Atletico Madrid. Both a return to his native Uruguay and a move to the American MLS were in the cards. But today there are reports that he could stay in Europe. His agent has made an offer to Dortmund.

The whole of Dortmund is still in shock after Monday’s news that Sébastien Haller has been ruled out of the game. The German striker left the pre-season camp because he was diagnosed with a testicular tumor.

With less than three weeks to go until the start of the Bundesliga season, Dortmund has lost a key player. It is unknown how long he will be out for, so the management has a tough task to deal with for the start of the season.

BVB are therefore not ruling out returning to the market in order to find a short-term replacement. And the name that seems to be gaining momentum is that of Luis Suárez.

The Sky television network has come up with the news, according to which the Uruguayan striker has offered himself to the German outfit to fill the vacancy left by the Ivory Coast striker. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl is the one who will decide whether Suárez ends up as an option for the Black and Yellows, who have just spent a total of £28 million on Haller following the departure of Erling Haaland to Manchester City.

Suárez is still without a contract after finishing his contract with Atlético Madrid, but even at the age of 35 he is still a valid striker. 33 goals in the last two seasons in the league is proof of that.

The other alternative, in terms of covering Haller’s loss, would be 17-year-old talent Youssoufa Moukoko. What is certain is that Sebastian Kehl will not make his decision right away. The final decision on whether to do anything at all depends on Haller’s diagnosis.
