The grand finale of the tennis season is coming! Already in mid-November we will see the traditional Tournament of Champions, hosted by London’s O2 Arena. Who is taking part and what is the programme?

The Tournament of Champions in China has been cancelled, but the Tournament of Champions in London will take place. So the world’s best singles and doubles players will be there. Unfortunately, the event will have to do without spectators.

When and where?

As mentioned, this year the Champions Tournament will be hosted by London’s O2 Arena. The event will take place from 15th to 22nd November.

So far, seven singles players are confirmed to participate. Roger Federer, who has already retired for the season, will not take part in the tournament. The already mentioned seven include Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Danil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev.

As for the doubles pairs, the duos Ram/Salisbury, Pavic/Soares, Krawietz/Mies, Granollers/Zeballos, Koolhof/Mektic and Peers/Venus are sure to feature.

Program

Both singles and doubles will be divided into two groups of four. They will play each other, with the top two advancing to the semi-finals. The draw hasn’t been made yet, but it is certain that Djokovic will be in Group A, Nadal in Group B.

What’s at stake?

It is not known what subsidy went to the tournament. However, the winner of the singles will earn more than 1.5 million dollars and 1,500 points will be added to his ATP ranking.

The winners in the doubles will receive just under $300,000 and, like the singles players, will be credited with 1,500 points in the rankings.
