Porto are facing an important game in their fight to reach the Champions League semi-finals. They play Liverpool, but are in a long-distance tug-of-war with Atlético Madrid for second place. Can they take at least a point?
Porto are facing an important game in their fight to reach the Champions League semi-finals. They play Liverpool, but are in a long-distance tug-of-war with Atlético Madrid for second place. Can they take at least a point?
Liverpool are happy with the way the group is going, with twelve points they are already assured of top spot in their Champions League group, only four points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League. In the last round they gave a four to Arsenal.
Porto surprisingly hold the second promotion place in the group of death, but they have only one point lead on Atlético. On the league scene, they lead the table by a score ahead of Sporting Lisbon.
Mohamed Salah is having an incredible season, he has had a hand in twenty-four goals (18+6) in sixteen games for Liverpool. Diogo Jota has scored six times and assisted twice so far.
Porto rely on Luis Diaz, the skilful Colombian winger has made eleven appearances and assisted two goals. Iranian playmaker Mehdi Taremi boasts a record of 8+5.
Liverpool have one of the best offenses in Europe, less than two goals scored in a single game this season.
Porto are firing it up too, scoring thirteen times in their last four games.
Given the home side’s form and their strength at Anfield, I think they will win this one too.
