Liverpool welcome Norwich to Anfield for the FA Cup semi-final. After winning the Carabao Cup, the Reds will be looking to finish in the top six in the next English Cup, what to expect from the game?
Liverpool have already won one cup in a week, beating Chelsea on penalties in the Carabao Cup final. They are six points behind Manchester City in the league from second place (they have a game to spare), and have reached the cup eight finals via Shrewsbury and Cardiff.
Except for one round, Norwich have been drenched in the relegation zone all season, already five points behind eighteenth place. They battled their way through the top sixteen in the FA Cup via Charlton and Wolverhampton.
Mohamed Salah is having an incredible season, the Egyptian winger has netted twenty-seven goals and assisted ten times through all competitions. The right back Trent Alexander Arnold (2+16) is also a great support.
In the visitors’ squad, only long-time mainstay Teemu Pukki, author of six goals and one assist, is worth praising. The young forward Adam Idah is still performing well, but the rest of the team is not able to keep their form consistently.
Liverpool are playing very well, scoring at least two goals in eight of their last ten games and have the best attack in the Premier League.
On the other hand, Norwich have scored nine goals in the last three rounds and have the worst defensive record in the league (55 goals conceded).
Given the completely different form of the two teams, I think Liverpool will win by two or more goals.
