Liverpool vs. Manchester City: preview and betting tips

One of the biggest games of the English league autumn is coming up. Liverpool and Manchester City will face each other in the 11th round of the Premier League. Two teams that have shared the league title in recent years. And with them, the second clash of Brazilian national team goalkeepers this year and also Erling Haaland’s record.

Liverpool are experiencing their worst start to a league season in a decade, while the blue club from Manchester have won five more points in the first nine rounds than they did in last season’s championship. Still, Pep Guardiola’s charges are second only to a superb Arsenal side.

Their opponents, then, have only consoled themselves nine times.

We can expect to see a lot of balls coming out of the net now as well, as at least four goals have been scored in the last five matches. The duel shouldn’t lack attractiveness this time either.

Klopp’s side have set themselves up for the game of the round by demolishing Scottish Rangers. Mohamed Salah contributed the fastest hat-trick in the history of the Champions League with a 7-1 win. Manchester, on the other hand, only drew 0:0 with Copenhagen after a worse performance.

The reigning champions have not won four matches in a row. The last time Guardiola’s charges got three points was on 7 February 2021 in the 23rd round of the league. Since then, two matches have ended in draws and the Reds have won twice.

The Blues are still the favourites. For them, it is also a rematch for the failed match at the Community Shield. Liverpool won that game 3-1. However, the Citizens soon afterwards got the machine named Erling Haaland going and he will be looking to add his 16th goal of the season.
