After last season, Liverpool are once again running like a well-oiled machine and, apart from two draws with Chelsea and Brentford, are 100% so far. And, as mentioned, the German coach can also be pleased with the shooting power of his players, as they have already enjoyed 15 accurate shots together.
Manchester City, on the other hand, have already recorded 3 losses in the current season. But otherwise, the Citizens are treading water and the one goal conceded in the current Premier League season is a good proof of that.
As far as mutual duels are concerned, Manchester City won 2 out of the last 3. But what is interesting is the score 9:2, when Klopp’s team scored 4 goals twice.
That being said though, the current Liverpool are in quite a different situation than they were last season and I certainly wouldn’t expect a similar drubbing, even more so at Anfield where there will no doubt be a great atmosphere.
As far as injuries go, the only question mark is Trent Alexander-Arnold, otherwise both teams will be at their strongest.
The bookmakers favour Manchester City slightly, who managed to win 14 of their last 16 away league games. However, the Reds are unbeaten in 16 league games and have also scored at least 2 goals in 10 of their last 11 league fixtures.
That’s the biggest nut to crack! Will a great offense assert itself against a great defense? Goals traditionally fall on both sides, which is why I personally believe that both teams will be able to assert themselves.
