Liverpool were only a point behind Manchester City before the game with Spurs. So he had to hope to lose his rival and win it all at the same time.

But that didn’t happen, Heung-Min Son sent Tottenham into the lead shortly before the hour mark and in the 74th minute Luis Díaz could only equalise the score.

This draw means only one thing, Liverpool have the same points as City, but the team from Manchester has the match with Newcastle to win. There are only three rounds left in the league.

“First of all, I would like to say that we have to stop acting like we are at a funeral. I didn’t quite say that to the boys, but that’s exactly the mood in the cabin,” coach Jürgen Klopp told Reuters.

“Only luck will help us anymore. I don’t expect City to lose, but imagine if that happened and we still wouldn’t win the title because we wouldn’t believe in it anymore. That would be crazy,” he added.

Liverpool’s dream of four trophies in a season is thus slipping away. It has a chance in both English cups and the Champions League.
