Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ranked among the best edge defenders in the world in recent years. However, this season he has often come under fire from critics. He also took a turn for the worse in the FIFA 23 video game.
The right-back is one of Liverpool’s key players this season. However, he dropped out of the England squad when coach Gareth Southgate stopped calling him up for national team meetings. Moreover, he is a fairly frequent target of criticism.
The fact is that if Trent Alexander-Arnold really excels at anything, it’s offense. Defensively, he doesn’t have that level of skill. According to Frank Leboeuf, the former Chelsea star, he could defend well maybe in the second English league.
However, in the popular FIFA video game series, this time with the number 23, he is still one of the top-rated edge defenders. He has no competition on the right side. Yet the creators of the famous series have cut his rating.
When Arnold was approached by his teammates Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas, who showed all their teammates their ratings in FIFA 23, the English fullback was not happy. However, it is worth noting that Jota and Tsimikas were teasing him.
They started by telling him what he was getting worse at. Whether it was shooting or physical fitness. But the thing that threw Arnold off the most was the reduction in speed from 79 to 76. “They think you’re slower. Even Kostas (Tsimikas) they think is faster than you,” Jota joked.
Otherwise, though, the Englishman’s card is not bad at all. His defending and dribbling is at 80, and his overall rating is 87, making him not only one of Liverpool’s best players but also one of the best edge backs in the entire series.
